About the Clean Clothes Campaign and the Fashioning a Just Transition Manifesto

Take action

Workers are already experiencing the consequences of climate, ecological and technological change. This is in addition to the relentless violations of their rights over decades by brands and employers. The exploitation is significant in it's own right, but it has also weakened the resilience of workers to face the consequences of the big changes that are happening in the industry.

Companies, governments and industry bodies are also making changes to the fashion industry in response to climate, ecological and technological change. But workers are excluded and workers' rights are not being taken into consideration.

Therefore, action is needed now to hold companies to account, to stop the violations of workers' rights and to force governments to uphold their duty to protect workers' rights. This action needs to happen at the same times as taking time to listen, learn and build movements over the coming years about the experience of workers in the face of the climate, ecological and technological change.

CCC’s campaigns on social protection, health and safety, living wage, freedom of association, civic space, urgent appeals and transparency are all essential parts of a Just Transition.
